Live Drawing at ‘Art in the Garden’ Exhibition
‘Art in the Garden’, Winchester June 2025, was an exhibition held inside the garden of artist Stephen Cooper, showing his work alongside Suna Imre, Eileen White, Simon Bray, Belinda Mitchell, Andrew Carnie, Vanessa Rolf, and Hugh Greasley.
I joined them on the Sunday to do some live oil pastel drawings, aiming to add some interactive elements to the show. On my small table, I brought along six outlines of simplified flowers and some oil pastels. I’d ask visitors of the exhibition to choose one of the designs and three/four oil pastel colours. I’d then draw their flower - it felt very collaborative.
