Paper Tags Workshop for ‘Love Where You Live’ campaign

I had the pleasure of leading a workshop held at the ‘Love Where You Live’ campaign by Southampton City Council, June 2025. They reached out to us at ZEST, a local art collective and community interest company I’m part of.

Alongside workshop helper J, we set about decorating a tree in Hoglands park with paper chains I’d made, and invited passers by to make a paper tag.

I pre-cut out shapes to make rainbows, flowers, houses/buildings, and trees. Once people pieced their collage together, they’d write on the back something they wanted for the city, or something they loved. People wrote about loving the green spaces, the range of things to do there, and to keep up events supporting the arts and LGBTQIA+ community.

Once done, we’d hang them from the paper chains or low branches in the tree above us for other people to read.

Please get in touch if you’d like a creative workshop at your community or commercial event.
