This drawing is inspired by a real plant, called Sea Thrift, or Armeria Maritima. In the UK, t's found in coastal regions and grows in dry areas near rocks. During the second world war it was featured on the threepenny to remind people to spend wisely. Folklore suggests that It's when boiled with milk it can help cure a hangover.
