Alice and I created this house out of portraits and flowery representations of people local to Northam Road in Southampton, including Harvey from the Ropewalk Community Garden and James from Caustic Bloom. ‘Built by Us’ reflects the people who made this area what it is today.

Our piece was included in the Roadmap exhibition, which ran alongside a community event where ZEST members hosted a day of free workshops and provided free food to anyone who attended. We closed the road and car park on Northam Road so we could take over the street, allowing kids to enjoy large chalk drawings, making eco seed bombs, painting on rocks & more.
